Below is a Match Report  for the game verses Bramley Village on Sunday 27th January 2008

Todays fixture was the chance to avenge one of our two draws in the League this season in the corresponding fixture earlier in the season we drew 3-3 at the Bill Hawes Ground at Bramley. In the Bramley Village line up was of our players from our Saturday side, Will Senior who transferred earlier in the season from GPS Manor Barn.
Back in our line up was Danny Ramsden returning after serving a seven week period of suspension, also back after a weeks absence was Luke Freeman. For the first twenty minutes or so, no team was in control but steadily we were winning the battle in midfield and it was no surprise when we went ahead 1-0 when Craig Reading scored in the 29th minute. Bramley Village came back into the game, when a Will Senior bullet header from a cross gave Michael no chance in our goal. 1-1 at half time. The second half kicked off with little to take between the two teams but in the 54th minute we were  awarded a free kick, some thought it should have been a penalty.
Luke Freeman elected to take it and duly dispatched into the back of the net giving Ryan Brookes in their goal no chance. We went further ahead when Matt Sowter after some good work from Callum and Luke down the right ,left with Matt Sowter cracking the ball past their keeper.  Bramley didn't let their heads drop and kept pressing in attempt to reduce the deficit. Craig kept their back four busy with is unselfish running off the ball, the defining moment came in the 81st minute when Bramley were awarded a penalty and up stepped Will Senior to take it and try to get them back into the game, but he didn't take into consideration the fine form Michael Robinson is in at the moment. Will struck the ball to Michaels left and he read it correctly to put it round the post for a corner. The game then  slowly came to a finish, with another 3 points in the bag to put the finishing touches to a fine 3-1 win. Man of the match goes to Craig Reading for his work rate.

Below is a Match Report  for the game verses Maltby Miners on Sunday 13th January 2008

We swept into the Fifth Round of the Rotherham & District Sunday League by beating a 'battling' Maltby Miners 'B' team 6-0 at Grange Park. A hatrick each from Craig Reading and Matt Sowter ensured we went through to the next round where we will take on Wilton FC. From the whistle we took the game to Maltby and in the first half produced one of our best displays of the season. We kept possession, rarely giving the ball away and and were clinical in our finishing, this was endorsed by our third goal in the 27th minute when a move involving five players  taking one touch  each ending with Lee Jordan crossing the ball in to the box and Matt Sowter scoring with the head.

We opened the scoring in 5 minutes with Matt Sowter, this was followed closely by Craig Reading in the 24th minute and Craig again in the 40th minute, 4-0 at half time. The second half very much like the first with Midget making powerful runs down the left side, but we tended to take our foot of the pedal and Maltby we allowed Maltby back into the game, they had four or five good goal scoring opportunities but Robbo was equal to them and thwarted their attempts on goal with saves out of the top drawer. Pitch side we all felt that Michael Robinson had one of his best games for us.The Maltby goal  had three or four close calls with their 'keeper following the trend in the 56th minute Craig scored to complete his hatrick with a powerful header from a cross from Midget, in the 85th minute we were awarded a penalty which  Matt Sowter  took hoping to complete his hatrick, their keeper hadn't read the script, diving to his right he got a hand to the ball turned into onto the post, but Matt following in made sure. In the end quite a comprehensive victory, but hats off to Maltby Miners for sticking to the task and taking part in a game played in a good spirit, well refereed by Les Brewer. Man of the Match Midget just shading Robbo, also sound displays from James Machin, Chris Halliwell and Callum Bilton, in the end safely through to the next round which will be played next Sunday, 20th January away at Wilton FC Ground.

Below is a Match Report  for the game verses Thrybergh WMC on Sunday 6th January 2008

After five weeks without a game and having to put up with the Christmas Festivities, this was always threatened to a 'banana skin'. but we opened very brightly with good possession with Thrybergh at sixes and sevens trying to close us down. We could have had a hatful in the first ten minutes with Luke Freeman, Midget, Lee Jordan all going close and it was no real surprise when in the 11th minute when we were awarded a penalty which Luke dispatched with usual coolness, Thrybergh by this time were struggling to get over the half way line although kicking down the slope. In the 21st minute we were again awarded a penalty but much to the displeasure of 'Munch' who was shouting for Luke to take the penalty to everyone's surprise handed the ball over to Matt Sowter to do the honours. Their 'keeper pulled off a great save but luckily for us  Lee was first to respond and put the ball in the back of the net. We were causing Thrybergh's defence all sorts of problems  and in the 25th minute a long throw from Midget was knocked past the keeper by a Thrybergh defender. The score  3-0 at half time it looked a question of how many we would 'rack up'  but in football you can never take anything for granted and our performance in the second half  was bordering on lunacy, We constantly gave the ball away and Thrybergh came back at us with two goals. A much improved second half showing, nearly allowed Thrybergh to snatch a draw and in the end we were glad to hear the final whistle. We have to learn from performances like this if we are to continue to progress., but in the end we ran out winners 3-2 and take the three points, Worthy of mention was the performance of Lee Jordan who following on from Saturdays display, never stopped running and whose work rate was of the highest order.
